H-J has built our company on the quality of our products and service.  We are looking for a great candidate to join our team as a Sourcing Project Coordinator NPD (New Product Development).

Summary:
The Sourcing Project Coordinator NPD is responsible for directing, organizing, and controlling project activities of varying size and complexity under the direction of the Project Manager.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with multiple departments, including Sales, Engineering, Purchasing, and others, to manage and organize the details of each project to maximize team effectiveness and efficiency
  • Research and review project history, part usage, shipments, and/or sales of intricate parts and assemblies to ensure an effective use of required departmental resources
  • Effectively and accurately communicate relevant project information and responsibilities to the necessary departments and the Project Owner
  • Manage and organize support functions including planning, tracking, reporting, quality management, and internal communication; to facilitate timely completion of quotation and order process
  • Review the project’s provided documents and essential information, in detail, for compliance to the project’s requirements
  • Proper submission to and maintenance of the internal project tracking system; including document management and updates to essential project information
  • Effective use of Excel spreadsheets and project control tools to monitor project plans, timelines, target due dates, and costs
  • Assist the Project Manager in the organization of supplier quotations and the calculation and posting of true costs
  • Prepare and maintain worksheets and database tables used for complex customer order tracking
  • Process both initial sourcing request for quotations and sample submission orders for each project
  • Assisting the Project Manager in necessary duties as they arise

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in reading drawings and product specifications
  • Strong multi-tasking abilities
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with impeccable attention to detail
  • High comfort level with MS Office Suite
  • Previous buying experience is a plus
  • Knowledge in domestic and import logistics is a plus
  • Knowledge of and or experience in manufacturing is a plus
  • Familiar with material and process standards (i.e. plating, raw materials) is a plus
